Industrial Controls Electrician

General Summary:  Industrial Controls Electrician

The general duties of the industrial controls electrician are to install, maintain and upgrade plant electrical equipment, as well as assist in the repairs of equipment not related to electrical equipment, as needed. This position pays based on experience, certifications and training but generally starts at $30/hour.

 

Skills and Abilities:

  • PLC Knowledge required; RsLogix, Studio 5000, Simatic Manager, Tia Portal
  • Experience with VFDs (variable frequency drives)
  • Computer based troubleshooting; e.g. PLC and VFD
  • Familiar with contacting technical support; e.g. Fanuc Robotics 
  • Troubleshoot robotics
  • Operate automated machinery to test for malfunctions and to verify repairs
  • Knowledge of NEC (national electric code)
  • Experience with multi meters and hand tools
  • Communicate clearly with management and fellow team members
  • Perform preventive maintenance in a timely manner
  • Able to return to work when needed for unforeseen breakdowns
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, climb and lift 50 lbs.
