Pantone’s Color of the Year | Marsala

We are thrilled that Pantone's 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala, closely resembles the earthy red tones of brick.

Marsala provides a natural hue, similar to the decadence of wine, which can be a perfect complement of many other colors in exterior design. Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone Color Institute’s executive director --portrays Marsala in Pantone’s press release (2014) as a natural, sophisticated tone with worldwide appeal that “translates easily to fashion, beauty, industrial design, home furnishings, and interiors.”

Our favorite brick pairing with Marsala is our Blended Burgundy brick, in the Parkway Collection.

The base color of our Blended Burgundy brick is very similar to Marsala’s red hue, giving a home’s exterior a welcoming feel. We suggest Marsala be used as an accent color for the exterior trim, front door, or shutters of your home. Marsala’s warm tones, paired with the textured and tumbled surface of Blended Burgundy, exhibit a pleasant but dramatic ambiance.
